The good people have left their weapons in the car, or at home to respect the company’s decision to have a gun free zone. No one moves in your defense, they just comply with the masked man’s order. He has an illegal gun, and it’s pointed right at you. He is wearing a black ski mask, and your stomach drops. According to the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action, “Self-defense is a fundamental right.” (Pros). This means that our forefathers made sure that legally we would be able to have the right to protect ourselves. The Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights states that the citizens of the United States have the right to bear arms, or keep weapons. Guns have been a part of the American lifestyle for over two hundred years, so why are our citizens trying to ban them now? Gun control takes away the rights of the citizens, the government has laws in place to keep you safe, and banning guns won’t make the problem go away.
